Across years of medical practice, a troubling truth became impossible to ignore; especially countless children and young adults in Chennai were being struggling to get access to the neurological and mental health care they desperately needed simply because they couldn’t afford it. Guided by a sense of responsibility to the community and a belief in accessible healing for all, Dr. Porrselvi A.P. and Dr. Sreenivas U.M. joined hands with mentors Dr. U. Meenakshisundaram and Dr. K. Umamala to create something different, something deeply human.
The Arunai Neuro Foundation was born out of a promise that no person should be denied care because of financial hardship, stigma, or lack of awareness. What began as a vision is now a sanctuary of support for the underserved — where compassion meets clinical excellence, and where every individual is seen, heard, and treated with dignity.
This is made possible through: Unified Brain Health Care and Arunai Neuro Centre.
We are not just treating conditions — we are nurturing possibilities. With a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, psychologists, therapists, and caregivers, we provide holistic neurorehabilitation and mental health care to those who need it most, many on a pay-what-you-can basis, and many entirely free. Because we believe every mind, regardless of its challenges, holds untold potential. And every life deserves a fair chance of healing, growth, and belonging.
